Tripp served in the US Navy and US Army, where he continues to serve as an Army Reserve battalion commander focused on Asia-Pacific security. He was a leader in the Michigan Army National Guard, and commanded an Army Reserve Battalion in southeast Michigan. He worked to evacuate Afghan-American soldiers’ families during the Afghanistan evacuation, including national television appearances to encourage greater action to save our allies.
He also served as the Michigan Chapter Director for the Truman Project and has worked at the Departments of Defense and State, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
He’s been the COO of Emagine Entertainment, where he led operations for an 1,800-employee company with movie theaters across metropolitan Detroit. He was also a management consultant for Deloitte LLP and a corporate attorney for Reed Smith LLP.
He has a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, an M.A. in Economics from Old Dominion University, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
